Heartstart Thatcham provide FREE, Emergency Life Support (ELS) skills training with the aim of getting as many people as possible skilled and confident enough to step in and make a difference should the need ever arise. Skills taught include recovery position, recognising a Heart Attack, what a Cardiac Arrest is, and how to perform CPR and use a defibrillator. They also raise funds to allow defibrillators to be placed in the community. It is about providing skills and tools to save lives.

On Monday 19 June a group of 25 local Home Educated children (aged between 8 and 14) will be taught these invaluable, life-saving skills.  Any funds raised here will help compensate for the donations already received (in cash), that needs to be used for paying for the venue hire to run the sessions, and hence Heartstart will receive a bigger donation. Win Win.
