I am running in memory of my sister Claudia who lost her battle against EB in 2006. Those of you that knew her know how much she suffered and so I want to do something that, for me, is a real challenge. 

Having not so much as run for a bus in the past 20 years, dragging myself round 26.2 miles is not going to be pretty. The upside will hopefully be that I lose some of the tummy I have been carrying around since the time of the picture above!

EB - 'the worst condition you've never heard of', is a group of currently incurable genetic skin conditions which cause the skin to blister and tear at the slightest touch. In some cases, like Claudia, it also affects internal linings and organs meaning they cannot eat normally or sometimes even drink a cup of tea. Every day is one of unimaginable pain. In its most severe form the condition is fatal.
