Story
Our Hackney Choices programme focuses on creating positive mind-sets in young people who are experiencing or at risk of offending, non-engagement and low achievement.
With support from partners and volunteers, the 17 to 21 year olds taking part are participating on a nine-month personal development programme that includes one-to-one coaching, monthly group sessions and work on community projects.
We’re looking to raise money towards a Hackney Choices Investment Fund to provide Talent Grants to young people taking part in the initiative.
Each young person or group of young people would plan and pitch an idea to a panel in order to be awarded with a grant. The grants, of up to £200, would then be to used harness young people’s individual talents, help with their personal development, go towards achieving their goal or to create a community project.
These inspiring young people are almost half way through their amazing journey of self-development. By empowering them to increase their aspirations, motivation, self-esteem, and enabling them take responsibility for their own lives; they are on the path to becoming thriving and contributing members of society.
We’d like to raise as much as possible to create the investment fund to give our young people the chance to develop their own ideas and receive the appreciation and acknowledgement they deserve.
