Here at Isle of Harris Distillery we have around 100K visitors pass through our doors every year, making the distillery an obvious choice for locating a defibrillator.  Less than one in ten people in the UK survive an out of hospital cardiac arrest. If a defibrillator is used and effective CPR is performed within 3-5 minutes of cardiac arrest, their chance of survival increases from 6% to 74%.

With the assistance of Lucky2Bhere, a Skye based charity who provide defibrillators and deliver Emergency Life Support training in schools and the community, we are fundraising to cover the costs of situating a defibrillator here at the Harris Distillery.  The projected cost of installing the equipment is £2000 we would hope to raise this amount with any extra being allocated to live saving education in local schools.

Here at the distillery, we enjoy any excuse for a bit of fun so we are launching a Halloween pumpkin carving competition to raise funds.  The prize for the best Harris themed pumpkin, judged by a local Lucky2Bhere trainer, will be a personalised bottle of Isle of Harris Gin.  To enter please make a donation to this Just Giving fundraiser, then submit a jpeg image of your carved pumpkin, with your name, age and a contact telephone number to pumpkin@harrisdistillery.com with the heading "Halloween Competition" by 3pm on Friday 29th October 2021.
