Story
Well, the Ironman 70.3 was horrendous and, having fallen over the finish line with my legs screaming from cramp, I vowed never to attempt the full...but sure enough I couldn't resist and have now signed up for Ironman New Zealand 2020!
3.86km swim (circa St Heliers to Rangitoto / Tower Bridge to Westminster Bridge), 180.25km bike (circa Auckland to Whangarei / London to Bournemouth), and a marathon...it doesn't get much tougher than this! If I'm lucky I'll be aiming to complete the distance in circa 15hrs!!
I've decided to support the Rainforest Trust UK as I have always had a fascination with the Amazon and, having experience how magical it really is back in 2007, it breaks my heart to know what is happening to rainforests all over the world with deforestation and climate change.
Rainforest Trust UK, is a British charity that works in partnership with Rainforest Trust in the U.S. to protect millions of acres of threatened rainforests for wildlife, communities and the climate.
Rainforests safely store billions of tonnes of carbon, helping to mitigate climate change and stabilise global weather patterns. Rainforests are also home to 50% of the world’s species – many of which are critically endangered – and thousands of indigenous communities who rely on the forests for their food, water and economic prosperity. In short, they are one of the most important natural resources on Earth, and their long-term protection is absolutely vital for our survival.

Any donations however small are massively appreciated and will serve as crucial inspiration when I've been going for 12hrs and there's half a marathon still to run!!.
Thank you,
Harry
