Story
Trixie was diagnosed with a Germinoma brain tumour in 2018. She underwent brain surgery last Easter to save her eyes as the tumour was damaging her optic nerve & has left Trixie partially blind. Then Trixie went up to UCLH hospital in London to have 25 treatments of Radiotheropy to her head & spine. Trixie spent 6 weeks in London with some family while having her Treatment. The treatment was successful and Trixie has been tumour free for 9 months now. Unfortunately Trixie has been left with pituitary deficiency & will take hormone medication for life.
While Trixie was at UCLH she met the spread a smile team who were amazing. During her treatment she had brilliant opportunities to see west end shows such as Aladdin, Matilda & School of Rock. Since her treatment has finished they still support our family .We were invited to be part of the strictly come dancing Xmas Special, There Xmas party & We got to go to Wembley arena to watch the X factor live tour.
Despite what Trixie has been through she is doing very well at school & is back doing her dance lessons & spending time with her friends. Spread a smile still support us with opportunities to go back to London which is brilliant of them & we are so happy to have the opportunity to support them back by raising money to help other families & children like Trixie at such a hard & dark time.
Trixie was given an amazing Xmas present from her grandparents to go to Florida which was one of her wishes she mentioned to her nanny while she was having her treatment, so 22 of us had the amazing opportunity to go to Disneyworld , meet all the characters & Trixie got to swim with Dophlins another dream of hers. We were lucky enough to have a lot of suport from friends & family who also contributed to help our little warrior have the holiday of a lifetime
