On 9th June 2011 Josh lost his life to SADS he was 15 years old and fit and healthy, but he passed away from an undiagnosed heart condition for which he had no symptoms.

80% of cases in Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome are undiagnosed.

Since losing Josh, his parents Rich and Donna have found out about a charity called CRY, Cardiac Risk in the Young. CRY have been amazing with the work they do and the support they have given Rich and Donna since losing Josh.  They have set up a memorial fund which all money raised is put into. They work closely with Rich and Donna and have asked them to be the County Representatives for the Charity in this area, with the aim of raising not only valuable funds, but most importantly, awareness which is a major part of what they are trying to get across.  It's not just about the money; the awareness of the hidden conditions is just as important.

Rich and Donna have worked tirelessly to fund raise and raise awareness to ensure that people aged between 14-35 can be screened for any unidentified heart conditions.  The screening is open to anyone anywhere.  Rich and Donna are funding their 3rd years screening in Hornsea this May and will continue to fund them every year.
