Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running in memory of Michael Kirby who passed away after an incredibly brave battle with Myeloma (a type of bone marrow cancer). His friends and family have raised thousands of pounds in his name for Myeloma UK in recognition of the support it offers all myeloma sufferers and their families.
Mike was super-fit and active and was always out running - he ran 8 London marathons, as well as hundreds of other half marathons, 10Ks and fun runs, and over the years raised thousands of pounds for Children with Leukaemia. This has inspired me to raise money for Myeloma UK. I am therefore running the Virgin London Marathon 2015 on the 26th April, in gorgeous luminous orange.
Myeloma can be difficult to diagnose early and is still one of the more poorly understood cancers, so research is vital and developments are being made all the time. Myeloma UK is a UK-based charity which works to raise awareness of the disease, fund research and support innovation. It also provides support for patients suffering from the illness, and their families. Please contact Mike's wife Vicki Kirby (my colleague) at victoria.kirby1@btinternet.com if you would like any more information about myeloma or the charity or visit the website at www.myeloma.org.uk.
I am so pleased to be able to do this in Michael's memory. Please donate whatever you can.
Thank you so much for your support!
