Story

My son Charlie recently took part in a Boogie Wonderland show at GLive. I sat down before the performance started, eagerly waiting for his starring moment. We'd bought a programme so I opened it up to see what the line up would be. The first page was a story about a little girl called Georgia, written by her mummy Ilse, and knocked me for six. This is what it said:

"Our beautiful Georgia, aged 3 and a half, collapsed and died on Christmas Day 2013 whilst on a family holiday. On Boxing Day, by air ambulance, we got repatriated and were taken to Kings College Hospital. Georgia had suffered from a ruptured brain aneurysm. Georgia was the most loving, engaging, bright, intelligent, funny, sweet and just totally gorgeous little girl."

Georgia had been a part of Boogie Pumps and would have been taking part in the show.

Ilse has experienced every parent's (including mine) worst nightmare.

It broke my heart to read it. Here I was sitting with my three perfectly healthy children, while such an awful tragedy had happened to a lovely family. I don't know Georgia's mummy, I just knew that I had to do something for her. Ilse had written that the staff in the critical care unit at Kings College Hospital were exceptional and she has set up the Georgia Sandy Fieldsend Fund to raise funds for the Unit.

So to all my lovely friends and family, and to those of you who know Ilse, please support me and support Georgia's Fund.

Thank you so, so much.

Ps you can read more about Ilse and Georgia in the attached article
