Story

As many of you know St John's Hospice cared for Phil firstly at home and then in the hospice in the last 4 months of his life. It seems like a lifetime ago that he passed away on 11th April 2012 in the hospice, and so much has happened in all our lives since then.

The events he should have been here for: The London Olympics- we all remember Super Saturday; England made it to the semi's in the world cup in 2018; thanks to Sir Andy Murray GB finally got a Wimbledon champion (twice), a US Open champion and 2 Olympic gold medals in tennis and let's not forget GB winning the Davis Cup; England won the cricket world cup, and British cyclists have continued to dominate the sport. Phil would have been glued to the TV for these events but he missed them all. If Everton ever win the Premiership I swear Phil will come back and make an appearance in my living room!  Then there would have been all the fabulous trips around the world we have done together and the new tech he would definitely have bought and sneaked into our house thinking I would not notice! And lastly he would have been Dylan's best mate for sure -he has missed all those years with our beautiful boy.

So it's time to remember Phil again in whatever small way you can - and to thank St John's Hospice for the wonderful care they gave to Phil and to me in 2012.

During the next few months I am going to commit to St John's that I will raise at least £500 in memory of Phil. I have 2 fundraising ideas up my sleeve - one is to sponsor me to do something I find VERY VERY challenging, to be announced shortly, and the other will be a prize draw for a special prize -this to be revealed in April. I may do 1-2 other things too if any creative ideas pop into my head. So watch this space.
