We find cures and access treatments to save the lives of blood cancer patients

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I sadly lost my father this year to a rare form Lymphoma; Mantle Cell. (MCL)  Dad has always been passionate about the outdoors, sport and kept hugely active; swimming most days until his illness took over in late 2016.

I'm so proud of Dad and his accomplishments, representing England in the 1958 Common Wealth games in Cardiff for the 220 yards breaststroke.  So determined he was, against odds, he set a new CW Record that stood for several of the heats.

So I see it only fitting, when asked by the "Wey Too Old" team if I'd participate in the Weymouth 2017 Iron Man 70.3, that I take on the Swim Leg of our relay team. We will complete this feat on Sept 17th.  My swim leg will be from Greenhill, Weymouth, set in the beautiful Weymouth Bay.  Whilst I'm less concerned on the 1.2mile distance, this will be my first "race" environment which will add a new dynamic.

I'd like to raise awareness for the disease and raise money for ongoing research and welcome your support.
