Hello friends
Welcome to our page
Bath Rugby Foundation is in its 15th year and is a massive part of our community in Bath. The charity's purpose is to empower vulnerable children and young people in Bath and the surrounding area to succeed. The ambition is to change the lives of vulnerable children and young people who have not been given that equal chance of success.
The reason we have chosen to support the BRF is largely due to our personal experiences. Sport has provided us with a platform for making things happen in our lives and we strongly believe that opportunities should be offered to all young people regardless of social or economic background. The BRF has many community projects which aim to break down barriers and promote social inclusion.
The BRF provides young people with opportunities to stay in education and receive training that will help them to find employment. The connection to Bath Rugby and sport in general is significant to us because we see the value in playing sport, staying in education and achieving sporting qualifications as this enables young people to grow in confidence and be successful citizens, providing them with core skills they can use to find work.
20% of young children in Bath live in poverty and are at risk of leaving school with little/no qualifications. The Bath Rugby Foundation works with local schools to help reduce the attainment gap that exists for disadvantaged young people by increasing and improving classroom engagement.
We have pledged to raise £500 collectively and will be running the Bath half followed by our first ever marathon in Manchester on Sunday April 7 this year.
