Story
I was shocked to find out that Nepal is the twelfth poorest country in the world. Over the last decade the country has made considerable progress reducing poverty but it is still falling behind. This has not been helped by frequent earthquakes and most recently, heavy rain causing mass flooding. However, one of the saddest issues in Nepal is the large number of orphans, a lot of which are young girls. I have a daughter (Sofia) and couldn't imagine her growing without the love and support of her family.
I wanted to raise money for Child Action Nepal which is a UK-based charity, taking in young, orphaned children from all over Nepal who have no place else to turn. The charity provides them with somewhere to live and a proper childhood within the setting of a small family home. Essentially, it gives them a chance in life that they would not otherwise have.
