Story
On 6 February 2016, our beautiful and courageous daughter Aggie lost her battle with neuroblastoma. Aggie was first diagnosed on 1 May 2014 and over the following 20 months spent considerable amounts of time in Southampton on Piam Brown Ward, where she received the most amazing care as all the staff tried everything to make her better. Sadly after multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiotherapy we were given the heartbreaking news that the cancer had continued to spread and there was no further treatment that could be given to her. We brought Aggie back to Guernsey in early 2016 and after an agonising four weeks Aggie died at home.
In memory of Aggie we would like to raise funds for Piam Brown Ward, which is currently being redesigned and refurbished to enable the staff to offer even better facilities to all the children undergoing treatment and to their parents, brothers and sisters who provide support, love and care to them.
We have chosen the target of £1,200 to represent the 1,200 Beads of Courage that Aggie collected during the course of her treatment. Each bead represented a procedure or achievement that Aggie accomplished during the 20 months that she was treated from chemotherapy rounds, injections, overnight stays on ward, to MRIs, x-Ray's and the insertion of naso gastric tubes. Hopefully your kind donations will enable us to reach this target.
