Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The care system is in crisis, record numbers of children in care and unprecedented cuts to children services; the perfect storm.
I invest some of my time in Chairing the Board of Trustees at Become, the national charity supporting those in care and those who have left care. I do this because I believe that care has to be excellent to overcome the disadvantage those in care face because of their traumatic backgrounds. Just good enough is not acceptable.
Become campaigns, lobbies and challenges those in power to ensure that care is consistently excellent and Become also provides essential services for those who need support and advocacy.
I'll be riding my bike in France with the fantastic supporters who organise and participate in the Biking for Children in Care initiative. Over 50 riders every year raising essential funds for Become. In total over £750k has been raised by these folk. Help us make it £1m.
