We help disabled children and adults to take part in sport.

Story

I've been working at the National Spinal Injuries Centre at Stoke Mandeville Hospital since 2017.  My role is funded by a charity called Wheelpower.

I'm a wheelchair skills demonstrator and mentor, I help support in patients who recently suffered a spinal cord injury which, as a life changing event, affects many aspects of life.  Many patients will need to use a wheelchair for life.  My job is to help patient recovery, alongside the permanent medical staff.  Patients can range from children to mature adults.  It's a thoroughly enjoyable job which gives me a huge amount of satisfaction.
