The Imam Hussain Blood Donation Campaign is the first & largest campaign within the UK which aims to encourage and inspire members of the Muslim community to give back to their society and help save lives through a simple yet selfless act such as blood donation.

Majority of Muslims in the UK are from ethnic minorities & the demand for donors of rarer blood groups from wider ethnic backgrounds is immense. With one blood donation potentially saving up to 3 lives, the campaign strives to bring people together from various backgrounds to donate their blood and become regular donors.

Ever since 2006, the campaign has grown and expanded nationally year after year, spreading awareness about the constant demand for blood worldwide and encouraging people to save lives through blood donation. Just last year we had over 600 people participate in this campaign, with a potential 1,302 lives saved. However, the need for blood transfusions are dire & are needed on a daily bases with 8,000 units of blood needed every day to meet hospital demand.
