The Syrian Crisis enters its third year and the on-going humanitarian crisis deepens further. One of the basic necessities we enjoy in life is water but it’s a luxury in Syria. I have teamed up with SKT Welfare (Charity No: 1127634) to raise £10,000 for water well. 

The cost of the water well is £10,000 ($16,000 USD) for construction and setup, after which it will cost 50p (per litre of diesel) per hour to sustain the well. In 1 minute, the well can pump 85 litres of water, resulting in approximately 5,000 litres of water per hour. It will produce 30,000 litres of water and serve 20,000 people.

Widows, children, the poor, the elderly and many more will benefit from this well. As the fundraising starts in Muharram (the first Islamic month) I will dedicate the building of this well in the name and honour of a man whose name echoes in the pages of history for his stance against oppression and tyranny Imam Hussain (may Allah be pleased with him). This is a great chance for us to invest in some Sadaqah Jarriyah for ourselves or our family members who have left this world.
