Story
Sadly Colin has said goodbye to this world. He passed away peacefully on Saturday 3rd October 2015 at the Countess of Chester Hospital. He had been diagnosed with liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma) earlier in the year, but mercifully the worst ravages of the cancer did not last long – it is only his last couple of months that the illness progressed rapidly. While I know he wanted so much to live and get better, he accepted what was happening and he died at peace.
Colin was diagnosed
in spring 2015 and after undertaking a series of tests and scans he signed up for
clinical trails, because although he thought he may not benefit
directly at least he would help others in future. That’s the kind of man he
was.
Sadly he was too ill to undertake the clinical trails and after a short period being prescribed medication to shrink the tumours, he became too ill to continue that medication.
We want to support the British Liver Trust in its continued research into liver conditions, liver cancer and awareness raising of liver health.
He was so determined, and he succeeded, in being there at his own Dad's funeral on 30th September and giving his Dad the send off he deserved. If there is an afterlife there will be some amazing cooking, baking and music making going down round about now.
He has always been such a huge influence and inspiration in my life, and while he will not be there in my future, the impact he has had will live on in my life and in the lives of so many people who knew him.

Rest Peacefully Dad. xxx
