Event: Bewl Water Dragon Boat Festival 2022, on 10 September 2022
In memory of Annamaria Ong
The Dragon Boat Festival is a spectacular annual event for charities with lots of fun for everyone involved.

Story

My name is Szen, and I'm an Engineering Adjuster with Integra Technical Services. I lost my 13 year old daughter, Annamaria Ong, over 5 years ago on 26th December 2016 (Boxing Day) after her 18-month long battle with Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma, an extremely rare form of childhood cancer.

Throughout her battle, we had amazing support from the Chartwell Children's Cancer Trust (previously known as CCT Tiger Ward). The CCCT provided much needed family support ranging from cancer family counselling, isolation ward playroom equipment, parents kitchen in the ward, right down to activities for the cancer children when outside treatment to simply give them a sense of normality where possible.

Even when we enter the much dreaded palliative care phase, the CCCT continued with their support and help grant one of Annamaria's last wishes of watching Matilda in the London West End. They even arranged for her to meet the cast at the end of the show which was the real highlight for her!

Integra has been very kind in supporting me in organising the Integra Wildcats Dragon Boat Racing Team to participate in this year's Dragon Boat Festival 2022 in Bewl Water. The aim is to help the Chartwell Children's Cancer Trust to raise funds so that they can continue with their tireless efforts in support other Childhood Cancer families, like mine, as they navigate through their difficult journeys.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for you very kind donations.
