Story
Cancer touches the lives of so many, we're reminded daily of those suffering with cancer and those who have lost someone dear to them. As we walk we'll be remembering Claire Jackson a special young lady and daughter of Arlene Jackon, Region Co-ordinator for Northern Ireland and the inspiration for last year's walk, who sadly lost her battle with Cancer last summer. Claire was a courageous and generous young woman who would be the first to put on her walking shoes and head out to raise money to help others.
We'll think too of Maria Luther's Mum. Enjoying her retirement and time with her family and grandchildren, when she became ill at the beginning of the year she assumed she was suffering with flu but sadly the virus was in fact terminal oesophageal cancer.
We all have stories we could tell of friends and loved ones who have suffered or are suffering with cancer - there is little we can do or say to bring comfort to them but we can raise money for Cancer Research UK so less people experience the pain and suffering Arlene and Maria's family are going through.
