Story
I have decided to run the Paris marathon this year for Trinity Winchester, an organisation that specialises in emotional and practical support for those struggling with homelessness, alcoholism and drug addiction. They provide support to over 650 members of our community each year and are a vital part of our community. Without organisations like this there would be no place for ordinary people who have hit rock bottom to go. No one chooses to be an addict, alcoholic or live on the streets. At Trinity people are given the tools to reconstruct their lives, the support and encouragement they need to lead a new normal life. They are given another chance without judgement. My mum fell victim of addiction and hit her rock bottom 3 years ago. She was sick and tired of being sick and tired. For those that know my mum you would never know she fights a battle everyday and would have never expected her to become an addict. It can happen to anyone! There are no rules in addiction. Thankfully Mum sought help from an organisation like Trinity. Life could’ve been very different for me and my family had there not been a company like this to listen and support her. That’s why running for Trinity means so much to me. They rely on contributions to continue their amazing work.
I started training in late November, so in just over 4 months I will have gone from being unable to run more than a mile to completing the 26 mile marathon in under 4 and a half hours. The goal seemed out of reach, but by training nearly every day and changing my entire lifestyle, it is definitely achievable.
I hope that you will consider donating to support this amazing cause.
