Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I was a fairly fit and athletic 21 year old and wouldn't think twice about doing a challenge like this, however in August 2013 my life was turned upside down, I was diagnosed with testicular cancer that spread to my lymph nodes for which I needed to have chemotherapy to cure the cancer. Chemotherapy is amazing stuff and thankfully saved my life but left me with a lot of long term side effects which debilitated me in ways I couldn't do the things I wanted to do and was no where near as fit as I was.
It has been 5 years since I finished my chemotherapy, I'd like to think my strength and stamina is in a better position and that I'm fit enough to be able to take on this challenge. I am taking on this challenge to overcome a mentality issue that is constantly telling me I can't do the things I could before I was diagnosed. I want to prove myself wrong.
I will be joining 10 others and also another testicular cancer survivor on this adventure, it will be both physically and emotionally exhausting but I am prepared for the challenge and will keep you posted on my training efforts.
The plan is to do the 3 highest peaks in the UK within 24 hours, the first climb will be Ben Nevis (Scotland), second climb will be Scafell Pike (Cumbria/England) and the final climb will be Snowdonia (Wales) followed by an evening in Caernarfon hopefully celebrating our achievements.
Any amount of money you can spare towards my fundraising goal is much appreciated, any donations of £20 and above I will be putting your name on my survivorship flag which will be taken to each summit, I'll take a picture at each one.
