Story
Living in Northampton for the last five years has allowed meet and work with so many brilliant people. I came for a teaching placement without connections to the area, but I've met hundreds of young people and adults who have changed my life for the better.
One of the things I have enjoyed the most is working as a Wellbeing Lead in school. This means meeting with students having a tough time, hearing their concerns, and signposting their next steps. I then either refer them to a counselling professional or simply be the person to listen and check in on them. So many issues can be resolved in this way, and I'd like to contribute some money to Northampton Lowdown who specialise in doing just that.
On Saturday 11th June, I will be running the entire length of the South Downs Way. 100 miles, 12,700ft of elevation. In one go.
I'm travelling down to Winchester on Friday 10th June, camping on the start line at Matterley Bowl, and getting up around 4am.
I start at 5am Saturday morning, and hope to finish by 5am Sunday morning (under 24 hours is the goal). There will be a lot of running, a fair bit of walking, and a metric ton of food along the way. I'll be lucky enough to have some supporters along the way; family support from Mum and Dad, and I'm even allowed pacers after 50 miles. There are 4 friends joining one at a time through the afternoon and into the night to the finish line. I'm hoping for the least possible amount of blisters and and bleeding nipples, but, what can you do..

As a good friend on a drunken taxi journey said recently 'just love and respect your friends and family and it'll all be ok'. I've been telling people that I think Saturday will be the best day of my life with my friends and family but not everyone has that support, so please consider donating some money to make that happen for young people in my town.
Now I just can't wait for that finish line beer.
