Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I made the terribly impulsive decision to apply for the London Marathon and have somehow managed to slip in, so I am now coming to terms with the fact that I will be - after a fashion - running more miles than I care to think.
I do however have the great pleasure to fundraise for the vital work of Freedom from Torture, a charity dedicated to the rehabilitation of torture survivors.
Having escaped torture and abuses of their human rights, survivors find sanctuary in the UK to receive psychological and physical therapies, crucial legal and welfare support, and take part in creative groups so they are able to rebuild their lives.
I am fortunate enough to work at Freedom from Torture, and so I see first-hand the wonderful work that is done and get to meet those who benefit from the support we offer.
Despite the difficulties I will inevitably face, it is absolutely nothing when compared to the horrific traumas suffered by torture survivors.
The more plastic notes and twelve-sided coins we can raise, the greater the impact we can have on the lives of torture survivors.
You are welcome to pity me in my struggle but please give generously for this incredible cause.
Thanks chaps!
