Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The Hour Record attempt will raise funds for the Down’s Syndrome Scotland, increasing awareness and tackling stigma. The attempt will take place on 21st March which is World Down’s Syndrome Day.

Violet has Down’s Syndrome and this is what has spurred me on to beat the record I set back in 1996. I’m quite nervous about it. I was 24 when I set the record and I’ll be 48 in May. Either way I will still hold the record at the end of the day and hopefully I will have shown people that you shouldn’t limit yourself or others.

Violet is so determined and strong-willed and I’m going to try and take encouragement from her and reflect her determination in this record attempt.

Children shouldn’t be defined by Down’s syndrome, and that’s why raising awareness is so important.
