My dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer over 6 years ago. We were told the cancer was inoperable until we met the incredible surgeon Robert Hutchins who gave my dad the chance to live. He performed a Whipple procedure and gave him his life back. Following a subsequent portal vein rupture, Rob operated again. He challenged other consultants wishing to turn off life support machines following this op. After over a month in Intensive Care my dad was able to move to a ward and slowly and with great endurance and determination, made a full recovery. Rob visited regularly at all hours monitoring and advising and giving the whole family comfort. It is no exaggeration to say that my dad owed his life on several occasions to this incredible man and the family cannot hold him in high enough esteem. My dad made a full recovery and we enjoyed a further 6 years with him. The charity supports this surgeon’s incredible work. please support him and his colleagues to enable other families to have that extra time with their loved ones and conquer the cancer battle.
