We train communities in beekeeping to enable them to empower themselves

Story

I am running London half marathon in September (in a ridiculous bee costume!) and then climbing Mt Mera in Nepal in October, both to raise funds for Bees Abroad.

(Nepal trip self-funded so all funds raised go straight to beekeeping training projects in Africa and Asia).

A bit about Bees Abroad. Working with local partner organizations in developing countries, beekeepers are trained to build a sustainable livelihood. A project I have been involved in developing with the Federation of Nepali Beekeepers is in Tanahun district, Nepal. Participants are single women headed households who do not have alternative livelihoods. They received colonies of bees (Apris Cerana, Asian honey bee) in April and are being trained in beekeeping techniques. I will visit the project in October.

Thank-you for your support!
