Since triumphantly casting aside the stabilisers all those years ago, my cycling career has hardly been one of great prowess. Quite the opposite in fact. But that hasn't stopped me, admittedly after a couple of beers with a friend, agreeing to cycle to Paris over the Easter Bank Holiday. And that's the long and short of it - I (along with some lycra-laden chums) will be embarking from Marble Arch in London on Good Friday and (hopefully) arriving at the Arc du Triomphe in Paris on Easter Monday. Covering approximately 500kms over 4 days, we'll be taking in some of the best of the British and French countrysides before finishing in the heart of Gay Paree.
Why? Because it's to raise money for a fantastic cause: Wooden Spoon, the children's charity of rugby.
Wooden Spoon is the UK’s leading grant-making charity dedicated to helping disadvantaged children and young people through the power of rugby. They are one of the largest funders of respite and medical treatment centres, sensory rooms, specialist playgrounds, sports activity areas, sports activity areas and community based programmes in the UK. Please have a peruse of https://www.woodenspoon.org.uk/ for more details.
So please, please, pretty please dig deep and support this amazing charity. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails – and once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to Wooden Spoon. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you,
James
