Story
Live at Home is a dedicated Manx charity working to improve the quality of live for our Island's older adults. Through our social activities and events, befriending relationships, intergenerational work and digital inclusion projects (to name a few) we offer choice and encourage empowerment in older age. We aim to eliminate social isolation and loneliness amongst older people by connecting people in communities that care. We encourage those more able, to support those more vulnerable and support people in independent living. All money raised will be ploughed back in to support the work undertaken by Live at Home to enable the older population helped by this charity to remain active in their communities and prevent possible mental and physical decline through the impact that loneliness can have.
I am 39 years of age and have lived on the Island since my teens having a 5-year spell in Cyprus in between and am a personal trainer working at the Palace Hotel and is a keen Liverpool supporter.
Running has been a big part of my life since I was young after being introduced to the sport by my uncle. I took part in the 2000
London Marathon and am now in training for the Chicago marathon in October and hope to raise a good amount of money to help this worthwhile charity. Thank you for your support.
