Story
Sported uses the power of sport to transform the lives of
disadvantaged young people and build stronger, safer communities. They are one of the leading Sport for Development charities in the UK, helping more than 3,000 community sport and youth groups survive and thrive.
The majority of community sport and youth groups are under-funded and under-resourced, often run on shoestring budgets by only a handful of dedicated staff and volunteers. Sported helps these local heroes by providing much needed professional expertise, resources and operational support to help them grow their capacity and improve their sustainability.
By donating to Sported you will be helping some of the most
vulnerable and hard-to-reach young people in our society to fulfil their potential.
To help raise money for this wonderful charity I have set myself the ambitious challenge of running my first ever marathon in less than 3 hours 15 minutes. With only 12 weeks to train for the race it's going to be hugely demanding, but by stretching my physical limits alongside thousands of other runners I can play a small part in raising the millions of pounds that are donated to the most worthy causes in society.
Thank you for your support, and please do join us on Sunday 22 April. It is a hugely inspiring and enjoyable day and would be nothing without the roadside support of family and friends.
