This will be a personal challenge with my old hip injury but I am doing it to raise money for child carers in Nepal. This project is supported by Carers Worldwide charity. 

All monies raised go straight to their work with these forgotten children who look after family members with physical and/or mental health illnesses plus do domestic chores. They are isolated from peers as they are unable to attend school or socialise. There is no state provision or community support. This can cause anxiety, stress and depression in the short term and with limited social and educational skills, the choices available to young carers later in life can be extremely limited.

The project aims to give these children some of their childhood back by training local volunteers to undertake home visits to provide respite and practical support so the children can attend school and by establishing child carer groups to provide mutual support, counselling and monitoring of their physical and mental health.

I am hoping the stunning scenery of Lake Geneva and the Alps will get me through the 10K!
