Story
The Raving Pink Panto, written by Owen Archlimb and award-winning local writer Alexandra Taylor, will be staged for one night only in Birmingham in the run up to the Christmas festivities. Raising money for charity, it includes all the thigh-slapping comedy and singalong audience participation of other Cinderella pantomimes, but with a few character and plot twists to bring it up to date and ensure the whole LGBT rainbow is included.
The show was the brain child of producer Jane McKears, and helping her bring it to the stage is a formidable team of volunteers, including director Amy Sharp, costume designer Natasha Pearson and makeup artist Millie Aldridge. Rehearsals began in September, with professional vocalist Kate Findlay working alongside the director to ensure audiences are dazzled by the singing, dancing and even circus skills of the talented cast.
With props and sets designed by local artist Paddy Broughton, the Raving Pink Panto will be staged at the All Services Club, Church Road, Moseley on Friday 23rd November at 7.30pm. The venue is fully accessible, the bar will be open all evening, and there will also be hot snacks and cakes on sale.
So if you fancy something a little different this festive season, no need to wave a magic wand, just donate £10 per ticket. NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN!
