We create sustainable opportunities to improve lives on the autistic spectrum

Story

I am going to walk  100.000 steps for the whole of April 2021 for CareTrade.

CareTrade we believe  'employment is the biggest single factor to transform the life of an autistic person'.
2020 was the year the government had set to half the disability
employment gap (meaning moving from 48% to 60%  employment for those with a disability). For autistic adults where full time employment is just 21% this would require almost a 4 fold increase and that was before Covid.

CareTrade has been at the forefront of innovative new projects to
support autistic adults for the past 10 years
on their individual
journeys towards and into employment and more independent lives. Our flagship programme is The Autism Project which we have run in partnership with Guys & St Thomas' NHS Trust since 2010. Typically 60% of our graduates move intoemployment and even in the midst of the  pandemic last year, 25% moved into employment.  We also run employment projects for over 25s.

We also support employers and employees within the workplace. Enabling autistic employees to reach their potential and have the right support to enable this. We offer training and support to employers in how to make reasonable adjustments from recruitment onwards.  Your support will help fund new projects and work placement opportunities in our new Working
kitchen.

CareTrade is a young innovative charity with Big Ambition – to change the life chances of young people with autism. With just 15% of adults with autism in employment the prospects for the 7,000 school leavers with autism each year are not optimistic. With your help we can transform lives.
