I'm taking part in the Paras'10 which is based on the first event of the Parachute Regiment's test week for selection.  It is a gruelling 10 mile endurance cross country route through water and over obstacles!  As if that in itself isn't tough enough, I'm doing it carrying a bergen (rucksack) weighing 35lb (excluding food and water) and wearing long trousers and military style hiking boots!!!

Doing a challenge like this at my age may be crazy, but I've been training hard since January and knowing that I'm doing it in support of this amazing charity is really spurring me on.  The Cowshed Charity is a lifeline for so many people facing hardship and crisis across Berkshire, such as families fleeing domestic abuse,  young people leaving care, the elderly and isolated and refugees (including Ukrainian war refugees). With the number of people and families seeking support increasing all the time, fundraising is crucial for it to continue helping those most in need in the community.
