Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My mummy friends from my antenatal group and I are taking part in Glack Attack 2017 to raise money for SANDS. Having all recently become mummies, we are extremely fortunate and grateful to have healthy babies. Sadly not everyone is the same and we want to help support valuable research to help reduce infant loss for as many families as possible. Thankfully none of us have experienced or needed SANDS support but Laura, as a midwife, has seen first hand the pain that families experience and the amazing work SANDS do to support them.
SANDS Aberdeen do some fantastic work in providing for Rubislaw ward at the maternity hospital. Aberdeen SANDS receives no statutory funding and so we are totally reliant on donations to continue our services to bereaved parents and families. They provide many items to Aberdeen Maternity Hospital, these include memory boxes, telephone cards, toiletries, baby clothes, camera SD cards and medical equipment such as Cuddle Cots and Blood pressure monitors and have just recently funded the refurbishment of the baby room, waiting room and delivery rooms in Rubislaw Ward at AMH. SANDs also provide Training days for midwifes, student midwifes and Health Visitors and staff to attend training days elsewhere.
We felt we should give something back. So for one day and one day only we will be running 5k and tackling obstacles. This is a big deal for some of us as the only thing we will usually run for is cake!
Please donate to help this amazing charity continue to help families in the North East...and who knows, maybe taking part will help reduce our mum tums!
Thanks,
Jenny and the mummies xXx
