Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I think that everyone who has known me for a while now will know that I am a bit of a exercise-dodger. I decided that for my 35th birthday I would give myself a present of being fit and healthy. So on my 35th birthday, the 28th of February 2016, I am running the Brighton Half Marathon! I am running for Rise, a domestic abuse charity. I did my first running event, the Rise 8K Undercliff for Women, in October 2015, and was so impressed with their event, charity and support, that I decided to run the Brighton Half Marathon for them too.
Running doesn't come naturally to me. This time last year I could barely run 4km without having to stop and walk. I never enjoyed it, but it was something I wanted to be able to do. If someone told me a year ago I would have even considered this I would have laughed! I joined a local running group in April and haven't looked back since. Its been a journey with laughs, new friendships, support, encouragement, lots of coffee, a few glasses of wine, some sore knees, some physio and a cracked rib, but its a journey I am thoroughly enjoying and if I can raise some money for a fantastic charity, what a bonus.
If you have taken the time to read this, please help me achieve my goal, and help me raise money for Rise :)
