Story
Hello I’m Jenny
I’m doing a very muddy run to support a local charity that aids and provides respite for care leavers. The run is called ‘Muddy Maniacs!' And it's taking place in late October.
Yes! Me, covered head to toe in mud!
I promise to provide pictures so you can all laugh at me.
I’m doing the run to fundraise for Pure which is a Stockport based charity supporting young people leaving the care system, a cause that's very close to my heart. http://pureinsight.org.uk/
Some of the projects Pure In-sight provide are:
Café Zest is a drop-in café open to care leavers age 16-28, who enjoy a hot cooked meal together, listen to music and catch up with friends. Guest speakers discuss a range of topics such as housing, budgeting and relationships. The café staff and volunteers provide enormous support to young people in order to prevent and tackle the loneliness that many young care leavers face when living alone.
Mentoring provides 1:1 positive role models to young people, offering a listening ear and advice, as well as practical assistance; varying from managing bills and
budget; improving fitness; finding work; or adapting to the challenges of parenthood. This is a personalised project so can offer support to meet individual young people’s needs and make a huge impact on the lives of young people.
Thank you so much for your support
Our hope is that the money raised will help fund the continued support Pure Insight provides for so many young people!
