Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have completed a 10km run on 11th May with a time of 55mins. I also completed the main event, a 12 mile obstacle course called Tough Mudder on 8th June, which was with a few of my friends. This was designed by the special forces and is an all-round test of strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie.

Last year my God-brother Lanfranco Gaglione took his own life because of depression. He was a happy, funny, smart, talented and fit person, who showed no sign of depression. No one knew because he did not seek for help.  He was an inspiration to all, a big brother to look up to and aspire to be like. At the age of 26 he completed a music degree and became a music teacher, he had been involved with several musician bands and completed several marathons, bikeathons and triathlons. He has truely inspired me to become more fit and even think about doing this run. I can honestly say this is the fittest I have ever been in my life and I owe it all to Lan.

I will be raising money for The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), which is to prevent more males from taking their own lives. CALM is a national charity with a helpline that takes calls from across the UK.  They  also work locally where they can, and work with local health commissioners in London and Merseyside to ensure that men are informed about the local agencies available to them, and provide a dedicated and focused campaign message. They launched in Merseyside CALMzone in 2000, and since then suicide in that region has dropped year on year among young men and sits below the average for both the North West and England and Wales.  London CALMzone was launched November 2011.

Rest in Peace Lan, you are always in our memories
