We deliver projects across the county to create community without boundaries

Story

The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation, I am ashamed to say, was not something I had even heard about a year ago.

In case you are in the same boat I was, here's a little about them...

The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation (YCF) is the official charity and community arm of the Yorkshire County Cricket Club.

They are a registered charity that delivers community projects across the county, under their four established themes of: Participation, Education, Health & Wellbeing and Heritage.

Using the power of cricket, the Foundation aims to make a lasting, positive impact on the lives of those living in Yorkshire.

If you want to learn more about the YCF and the specific work they do please have a look at their website: http://yorkshirecricketfoundation.com/

I am now seven months into my year long placement, as a Health and Wellbeing Projects Officer, with them (as part of my Psychology degree at Loughborough University). I have loved every second of it and cannot wait to see what the remaining six months bring!

This opportunity with the YCF has, for me, been completely invaluable - giving me experiences and opportunities I couldn't have imagined I would be so lucky to have! And I am so grateful for this...

… Which is why I want to give back to this amazing charity to help them fund some of the incredible work they do in and around Yorkshire's communities!

I am not typically a runner, in fact I swim so am quite the opposite of a runner!

But since taking over the YCF's social running club, the YCF Running Club (aka the Rose Runners), at the start of my placement, I have found I have a bit of a soft spot for this particular form of physical activity, especially when done socially!

(More about the YCF Running Club can be found here: http://yorkshirecricketfoundation.com/our-work/view/37/ycf-running-club)

This is a great challenge for me and I would appreciate any support monetary or otherwise!

Anything you can donate is much appreciated by myself and all the YCF staff, and I can assure you, from first-hand knowledge, it WILL be going to good use!
