So here we are again..... didn't think I'd be running the 10k again anytime soon!

I am running and raising money for 'The Life Centre' again.

The Life Centre is a place that counsels and supports survivors of rape and sexual abuse, a subject that is hard to speak up about and can even be a bit taboo. It's hard for victims to speak openly about abuse and I want to break that.

I am a survivor of child sexual abuse and The Life Centre played a crucial part in my road to recovery. Child sexual abuse can leave you with such a sense of shame that sometimes its unbearable.

They listened, understood, let me drink tea and sit quietly, they didn't judge, they didn't mind that I couldn't say the words out loud, they never forced me to talk, sometimes they would just let me cry. I'm a wife and a mum and they just let me be me for a bit. They helped me heal and more than anything they gave me validation for the way I was feeling. They slowly chipped away at the shame and supported me in every possible way that they could and I can't thank them enough.

The Life Centre is a donation based charity. A specialised team of professionals who give their time and energy which is invaluable to helping survivors of abuse and heavily rely on donations.

Please don't feel pressured to donate on my page. I know I have raised money in the past for this charity. But, just by reading this blurb and talking is enough support to help breakthrough the taboo of sexual abuse. So thank you for taking the time. Don't be afraid to talk.
