Well, its finally time to acknowledge whats going to happen!.......
On 9th September 2018 I will be taking part in the Great North Run. Anyone who knows me knows that I am far from a 'natural' runner, and in fact, it is my love of food and prosecco that spurred me to embark on the 10k season (well that and a very convincing bestie!!)
Anyway, on to the important stuff. I wanted the next time I asked for people to 'put their hand in their pocket’ to be for something that would really challenge me, but more importantly hopefully raise a shed load of money for an extremely worthwhile cause.......
I am raising money for York Mind, who do amazing work and provide fantastic mental health services in York and the surrounding areas.
Why York Mind? On Friday 8th December 2017, days before his 24 birthday, Sam Reid, a member of my team at work, could no longer cope with his constant battle with mental illness and tragically took his own life. I urge everyone to please take the time to read Sam's story www.letstalkaboutsam.com and lets try and break the stigma surrounding mental health. If you're able to donate, please give whatever you can to support an amazing charity.
