Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Child Line Rocks just giving page.

I have been invited to take part on a ride across the USA. This once in a life time experience has been offered by the Charity Board for the contribution I’ve given over the past year towards the activities of the Childline charity.

The aim of this sponsorship request is to raise £10k to fund a major contribution to the charity which helps children in distress. The Childline charity receives on average 4.5k calls a day which they are struggling to deal with but with the funds raised we can help employ more resources to deal with the ever increasing demand.

Every £4 raised will fund a telephone response and every £1,500 raised will help train a counsellor to handle these cases.

The ride planned for 25 April 2014 to the 4 May 2014 will take us through Nashville, Memphis, New Orleans, Lafayette and Clarksdale has already attracted the support of a major label and considerable press interest as shown by a recent Sunday Times article titled "England Rocks-Hands across the Water"

Riding as the ‘Sons of Royalty’ - which is the only music industry volunteer board for both the ‘Childline’ charity and its twin ‘NSPCC’ - the trip will finish in Highway 61 – “The Blues Highway” where a concert is being staged at the Ground Zero Blues Club in Clarksdale MS and being hosted by the Mayor, Bill Luckett & his business partner Morgan Freeman. Please see www.childlinerocks.org.uk for more information.

Thank you for your kindness in helping make this vision a reality

ChildLine is the UK's free and confidential, 24 hour helpline for children in distress or danger. Trained volunteer counsellors comfort, advise, support and protect children and young people who may feel they have nowhere else to turn. Children call ChildLine about a wide range of problems, but the most common problems are abuse (both sexual and physical), bullying, serious family tensions, worries about friends' welfare and teenage pregnancy. Children and young people can call ChildLine about anything – no problem is too big or too small. ChildLine is a service provided by the NSPCC
