Story
Hi Everyone
Thank you all so much for your love, support, kindness and extreme generosity
I finished the race - hurrahh!!! Things were going swimmingly for 15 miles and I wasn't even out of breath - then at 15 miles a searing pain went through my hip - running became very painful - so I walked up hills and tried to run down hills for the last eleven miles - I stopped six times at the St John's Ambulance stations to get physio treatment and managed to get across the line in 4 hours and 35 minutes
WE ARE JUST £65 SHORT OF THE TARGET - IF SEVEN PEOPLE DONATE JUST £10 WE WILL BE THERE - PLEASE DIG DEEP & HELP THIS WONDERFUL CAUSE - THANK YOU
I did my absolute best - but it is not about me - it's about raising money for those abandoned children in China - I suffered for a few hours - every pound you give will help relieve their suffering and make this all so worthwhile
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
I am raising money for Christian Action, a charity working with the most vulnerable in Hong Kong and Mainland China. Everything I raise will go towards Christian Action's work in the remote Chinese province of Qinghai, where they run children's homes for abandoned children and rehabilitation centres for disabled children. Christian Action opened the first ever rehabilitation centre in the province, so that for the first time therapies like physiotherapy and occupational therapy, and special education are available to disabled children. Their aim is to help disabled children become more accepted in the local community, and for child abandonment to end. The photos show children who were found abandoned as babies and whose health has been restored and who are now reaching their potential.
