Story
So why am I doing it and why should you donate money to help me see one of the worlds greatest sights.
What we are attempting to do is highlight the Voluntary Services Aberdeen (VSA) and the amazing work they do for the community in the North East of Scotland. This is a charity I have gotten to know very well in the past few years and an organisation I'm passionate about supporting. But this will be no easy feat, trekking over 40km, altitude of 4200m, sleeping in tents, eating whatever the locals serve up to us (with no ketchup!), squatting over a hole in the ground for the toilet, all manner of creepy crawlies and very mixed weather conditions. Those of you who know me will know I'll miss my home comforts!!
The money you help us raise will be going towards mental wellbeing but through our social media presence we will be highlighting the VSA to so many others. Furthermore I wanted to do something to celebrate G&Ts 25th year anniversary on 7th June, giving back to a long term client, partner and amazing organisation was too good an opportunity to miss.
Any donations will be hugely appreciated and we will of course by documenting our story along the way with plenty of pics, just maybe not the toilets!
A word from VSA below -
Machu Picchu is one of the most iconic sights in South America, & the culmination of the magnificent Inca Trail trek through the Peruvian Andes. Our team are fundraising for VSA as they trek this breathtakingly beautiful route through valleys and high passes, scattered with fascinating Inca ruins from the 5th to the 14th of April 2019.Trekking on Inca-paved paths and steps, the route takes you up through lush cloudforest to the demanding Dead Womans Pass (4200m). Continually climbing up or dropping down, the way is steep & the altitude adds to the challenge. Team VSA will finally come to the Sun Gate, which overlooks Machu Picchu, where the first magical glimpse provides an unforgettable reward for their efforts.By donating to VSA you are supporting the most vulnerable people living in our communities across Aberdeen/Aberdeenshire. Every year we support thousands of local people, your support enables us to provide the best of care so that local people can live the best of lives.
