Story
10 Years ago I cycled London to Paris for prostate Cancer, I was obviously younger and fitter then, but fast forward 10 years and I am now doing another cycle ride for charity, Scarboro Pier to Blackpool North Pier.
This time it is slightly different as this is for the benefit of a local charity, Blackpool Carers Centre, not only a local independent charity, but also a great place for unpaid carers to take time out and get some respite, meet like minded people, get some advise and help from professionals.
Blackpool Carers Centre is an independent charity that receives a little funding from the NHS that nowhere near covers its annual costs of over £1m a year to run.
It is such a great place that they look after and provide support to unpaid carers as young as 5 years old, can you imagine that??
If you could donate just £7.50, that would pay for a young carer to go to a 2 hour respite session so that they can play and be children with other young carers who face the same challenges that they do. (Don't forget to tick the gift aid).
As you can well imagine, this is a tough ride with some long hours of training required, so every penny raised will be truly appreciated and if anyone fancies joining me and the others I do believe there are some spare places!!!
Thank you for your time and contribution!
P.S. I will be selling sponsorship on my cycling shirt so if anyone is interested, give us a shout!
