Story
Since Dad was diagnosed with dementia in 2016, Mum's hospitalisation with pneumonia last year and their recent move to a care home, I have leaned heavily on charities, including Age UK, to help us through the frightening reality of trying to get the right advice and comfort.
Age UK give older people opportunities to live healthier lives, build friendships and stay as independent as possible for as long as possible. They offer information and advice as we have found, and give practical and emotional support such as their befriending service which gives desperately lonely people someone to talk to. With your support they can be there for older people in our community when they need us. Their message is simple: Live Healthy. Live happy. Live independent.
I posted this back in March for the Bath Half which was cancelled due to snow, and your donations from then show on the total so far. Hopefully the Bristol Half won't be snowed off too.
So to all my friends who missed out on donating earlier in the year, anything you can give would be hugely appreciated.
Thank you so much to: Trevor Lawrence, Karen Robson, David Dring, Zil Sanders, Karla Leather, Kym Riddell (g'day Kymbo), and Craig Butler for you donations back in March for the cancelled Bath Half - you're off the hook for this!!
You can also text - JJYY51 £5 to 70070 gives £5 (or chose a different amount), and you get the chance to add tax back via 'gift aid'.
