Story
My name is Johnny Cullen and I write about games for a living. I've written for the likes of Eurogamer, VG247, Official PlayStation Magazine UK, Official Xbox Magazine UK and Polygon, to name a few.
I was inspired to write about games through various factors, one of which was Metal Gear Solid 3. It became my favourite game ever soon after its release in 2005.
A few years ago, I felt a kind of downward slope in my passion and enthusiasm with games after a bad spell in my life. Not to say I was done with games at that point, but it seemed like it was starting to head that way.
But then, The Last of Us came out. I was already excited for The Last of Us - after all, I was a massive fan of what developer Naughty Dog had previously done with Uncharted - but not in a million years did I expect it to, for the lack of a much better term, wow me as much as it did.
After playing through it last year, The Last of Us became my new favourite game ever. With this and a career/life-defining moment following afterwards, my passion for games went sky-high again.
I've also wanted to do something for GamesAid for a while and considering The Last of Us is about to get a re-release, it feels like the best time to do a 24-hour livestream all in the name of GamesAid, who do impeccable work for kids in the UK.
You can find out what I'm doing during this full 24-hour stream at this link here: http://johnnycullen.net/cullen-plays-live-for-gamesaid-the-last-of-us-remastered-friday-august-1-saturday-august-2-from-3pm-bst
