More than forty five years ago during a service at St.Michael’s Church Tidcombe, the parish vicar asked the rhetorical question, “ What is love?” A little boy got to his feet & piped up “Love is Tidcombe” I was that little boy.

This beloved church has been a bedrock to my family. It is the place where my daughter  and I were christened, along with my siblings, where my wife and I were married, and where my beloved Dad is buried.

It is an ancient & exceptionally beautiful place of worship - and in urgent need of repair. The community is in the midst of a £50k fund-raising campaign to save the wonderful roof and interior of the church and enable restoration to be completed before this place of prayer, music and peace is lost to us.

The Wiltshire Historic Churches Trust, which organises this 'Ride and Stride' event has generously donated to St. Michael's .

On 8th Sept I hope to cycle about 80 miles visiting some 30 churches. Half of anything that I raise will go to St Michael's and half will go to the Wiltshire Historic Churches Trust, to enable it to make grants for the upkeep of St. Michael's, Tidcombe and other county churches.
