Story
So … in all the time you have known me I haven’t been one to
pester friends / colleagues for sponsorship when I have run 10ks, half
marathons and the like. But you guessed it, that’s about to change !
I’m not looking for you to fund my time off work, I have paid my passage and am looking to fund raise for the charity.
In April I will be joining a charity called the Tag Rugby
Trust on a 2 week tour to Zimbabwe. I know what your thinking “Jo’s no rugby player”. The charity has been going for 15 years running mass participation tag rugby programmes for boys and girls from challenging backgrounds, over 150,000 to date. That level of engagement over the years has developed into a broad range of skills development and community work elements to their operations.
So whilst I’m there I will be working on a female empowerment project, a special need project and delivering some first aid training to community tag coach volunteers in the first week in Harare, then
travelling via a Tag Tournament in Bulawayo to Victoria Falls where I’ll be getting involved with coaching Tag Rugby and working on a community project in one of the high density suburbs.
Be prepared to be bored to tears with my stories when I return !
